Informer Series Management Solutions: Virtual Operations Center
Protect against virtual sprawl
Virtual Sprawl
Virtual systems have been rapidly adopted over the past 5 years. The
ease at which you can create a new VM from a template is down to 3 clicks.
With this ease of creation, Virtual Sprawl has become rampant in organizations
of all sizes. Administrators are now faced with monitoring all the resources
used by individual virtual machines and the hosts they run on. Enterprise
level monitoring software can help administrators, but cost from thousands
to tens of thousands of dollars. For a large number of businesses, the
cost is out of the range of their budgets. Milton Security Group recognized
this gap and has developed a low cost solution with many of the same
features of more expensive enterprise level monitoring software.
Virtual Environment Visibility
Virtual Operations Center (VOC) shows real-time resource consumption
and workload data for all virtual machines, hosts, clusters, and datastores
on all vCenter servers in a centralized location. Instantly discover
cpu, memory, and datastore.
Dashboard
VOC displays the top resource consumers, based on user-defined settings,
as well as a list of virtual machines with normal operation parameters.
Virtual machines that experience health issues are highlighted based
on their level of danger.
Centralized Monitoring
VOC is an enterprise-class application that provides access to crucial
resources and performance data without affecting vCenter or ESX Host
performance or access policies. It provides access to the infrastructure's
performance data by utilizing the abilities inherent in VMware PowerCLI.
VOC provides real-time access to infrastructure's disk space, disk
issues, and datastore information.
Notifications
VOC has prebuilt notifications including: Disk Space, VM Status, CPU
usage, Memory, and Snapshot Age.
